ABOUT US

The Magical Tea Chest came to life in 2017 after we decided to change our setup from the Magical Tea Machine. We wanted a smaller set-up but to maintain our high food and service delivery alongside a unique look.

We have 5 * rated food hygiene . We generally operate within yorkshire and linclonshire but do travel further afield for particular festivals / events.

FOOD AND DRINK (the important stuff :)

We pride ourselfs on supplying superb food and drink. The majority of our meat including our gourmet burgers which we can get in a variety of flavors, comes from a local butcher in Hull which we have been using for years.

Our veggie meals are made from scratch on site with homemade recipes, so you know your getting something made fresh. We can also provide breakfast options both veggie and meat.

Our coffee is fresh filter coffee and we get great feedback on it. Our magical hot chocolate is one of a kind and described as a meal in a mug. Fresh Chai is made to a traditional recipe and often runs out. For some event we get licensed to sell Mulled wine, mulled cider and hot fruit punch all created onsite from our secret recipes.

We try to cater for different dietary needs, so if your unsure just ask. Our prices are very competitive and we like to feel we are giving good value for money.

see our food and drink page for sample menu.

We are happy to chat regarding menu options for your event.

Set-up

The Tea Chest is based around a 2.4m long trailer + hitch.

This is then connected behind to a 2.4 x 2.4 heavy duty gazebo.

for day events we need approx 3.5 x 3.5 m

same layout for festivals + if available space for stock/prep tent behind.

basic Set-up time is approx 2 hours.

We operate using gas and usually require access mains power (we have plenty of long power cables)

We are happy to open early and close late with general festival operating times of 8am-12am if site permits.

Ethics

We think a good company should try and give something back no matter how small they are. We use recyclable cups, paper plates and wooden cutlery. Alot of the tea Chest set-up is from second hand equipment or re purposed. The trailer was saved from the scrap heap and put back together with a wooden interior. We use LED lighting and tow with a highly efficient car. Our business bank account is with reliance bank with is rated as one of the most ethical bank providers.

Leftover bread and other perishables are given to local charities and shelters in Hull. We also support Hull soup which is a community fundraising projects helping give small amounts of money to local projects.
